MTC's inspirational event 'Ahead of the Games' proves to be a real success...

Ahead of the Games, Regents Park, London 28th September saw MTC produce a truly unique event, 18 years in the making.

In one of the most inspirational events of it's kind, 12 Olympians holding a combined medal tally of 18, including 7 golds, took to the stage at the Royal College of Physicains and demonstrated the qualities and values they articulate to an enthralled audience through a fast paced afternoon of presentations and interviews.

The format of the day offered a perfect illustration of the varying ways in which this Talent has the ability to meet a wide range of briefs in the corporate world and in working with MTC how these can be tailored to a specific programme or campaign.

The audience, comprising of established senior sports marketeers from brands and agencies including M and C Saatchi, MacDonalds, Coke, Cadbury, Lloyds TSB, Aviva, Synergy and IMG, enjoyed the first ever presentation on "what makes a champion" by our first female Winter Olympic Gold medallist in 58 years, Amy Williams, whose truly outstanding story traces her steps from obscurity to national heroine.

The Road To The Games - A highly entertaining Question and Answer session with Kelly Sotherton, Dean Macey, Perri Shakes Drayton and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, facilitated by broadcaster Ned Boulting with the young stars grabbing the day's limelight with their unbridled anticipation of 2012...

London Calling - One on one interview between Shelagh Fogarty and Olympic Silver medallist and current World, European and Commonwealth Gold medallist Phillips Idowu on his pursuit of the Holy Grail of an Olympic Gold medal in his East End back yard to add to his tally of the 3 major titles of Track and Field.

Mentormenting - A snapshot of Leon Taylor's unique approach to engaging and inspiring talent in the corporate world

The Paralympics - Motivational speech from Danny Crates, the 2004 Paralympic champion, who's natural charm and good humour shone through his amazing story

Can Britain Be Great? - An Ahead of the Games exclusive - Keynote exclusive interview between Jonathan Edwards and UK Athletics Head Coach Charles Van Commenee on his and the entire nations hopes for a successful games for British athletes and do we have what it takes to deliver on our biggest stage?

An Olympic Defining Moment - Olympians Paul Goodison, Steve Backley, Sally Gunnell and Colin Jackson each selected a defining moment from their respective careers - the four shone through not only as genuine stars but as best in class inspirational speakers. Facilitated by Olympic Bronze medallist Steve Parry, who was value in himself knitting stand up into his role, making this a climax that raised the roof in the auditorium.
