Commonwealth Silver For Dave

David Daniell Produced a stunning display to claim the silver medal in the men's keirin at the Commonwealth games in Delhi...

Touted as ‘the next Chris Hoy', 20-year-old David Daniell lived up to his billing as he rode superbly to snatch a Commonwealth silver medal in the mens keirin. David led the field from the off but was overtaken just before the line and crossed it in third place. However,  Malaysia's Azizulhasni Awang, who crossed the line in first place was disqualified for impeding New Zealand's Van Velthooven, which meant that Dave was pushed up to second place.

When asked about winning the silver medal Dave commented, 'I'm so glad to get the bronze and then to get the silver medal I'm over the moon. It's just brilliant. I took it out at the front and tried to play to my strengths. I'm so glad I got the silver medal in the end.'

Dave will be riding again later this afternoon for England in the sprint qualification.

Congratulations to Dave from all at MTC!
