Gunnell Opens Home For 2012

Sally Gunnell has announced that she shall be opening her Family farm to the public for the duration of the 2012 Olympics.

Sally, a former Olympic Champion Hurdler, has teamed up with the Caravan Club to open her family farm in Chigwell, to the public during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The site will hold 1,300 caravans and shall be open from the 25th June to 11th September 2012. With the Olympic Park in Stratford less than 15 minutes away by tube Sally is planning to move into a caravan on the site for the duration of the Games with her family.

"My memory of the Olympics is how happy everybody is and how everybody is there to enjoy the Games, whether that is inside the stadium or in different places," she said.

With hotel prices set to soar during the Olympics, Sally is delighted to be able to offer families a more affordable option, enabling them to still experience the Games.

Having won a Gold meald at the 1992 Olympics in Barcalona, Sally knows the thill and excitement of being part of the Olympic experience.

"The plan is to have a central area where there will be big TV screens and different things will be going on each evening, so even if people are not actually at an event, they'll still be living the Olympic dream."

Pitches will cost £25 or £30 a night, depending on whether they include electricity. Bookings can be made through the Caravan Club website from May 5 this year and by phone from June 13.
