James Hit’s The Road…
James and Ben aim to complete 60 hour rickshaw ride tonight in time for Pride of Britain awards
Last Saturday, James and his trusted companion Ben Fogle set off on a 450 mile rickshaw ride from Edinburgh to London to raise money for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) charity. In the back of their cab will be Major Phil Packer, who since suffering a spinal cord injury following a rocket attack in Basra in 2008, has rowed the Channel, completed the London Marathon and climbed El Capitan in Yosemite Park all in aid of the charity.
Despite stormforce blasts which reduced the perfomance of the rickshaw to something similar to a snail, reports have confirmed that the intrepid pair remain on course to arrive at the Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards in London at 8 pm tonight.
