James To Tackle Great North Run…

James Cracknell will be taking part in the BUPA Great North Run this Sunday

Though not in peak physical condition, having been plagued by a hip injury, James confesses he's still determined to run the race but perhaps not as quickly as originally planned;

‘I'm going to struggle to do it in under 1 hour 20 minutes, like I was hoping'

The good news for James is that he plans to go around the course with his fellow Arctic adventurers Ed Coats and Ben Fogle and this will offer the opportunity to maximise the competitive zeal he is famed for.

MTC's Jonathan Edwards will be tasked with carrying out a series of roaming reports during the race as part of the BBC's coverage which starts at 9:30 on BBC One.
