Leon Named In BOA Commission

Leon Taylor is part of a group of 14 athletes, who among them can draw upon combined experience of 33 Olympic Games, which have been named as the members of the newly formed British Olympic Association (BOA) Athletes' Commission.

The Commission is an advisory group that has been created to bring the perspective and expertise of the athletes to provide input to the many initiatives and programmes offered by the BOA. The members comprise a mix of ten summer and four winter Olympians, with 12 different Olympic sport disciplines represented. Its creation followed a recommendation from the International Olympic Committee Congress last year to ensure that athletes possess a meaningful voice in the decision-making process of National Olympic Committees and the BOA recognised the qualities that Leon will bring to such an organisation.

Upon being appointed as a member to the group, Leon stated "I'm thrilled to be involved in the Athletes' Commission at this exciting time for the British Olympic Association - just two years out from London 2012 and going from strength to strength under the new leadership. Now that I have retired from competitive action I intend to find the time to give back and support the current athletes in their quest for Olympic success, and initiatives such as the Athletes' Commission are a great way of doing this."
