Lizzie Wins Again
Lizzie Armitstead won her second title in two days with victory in the women's points race at the British National Track Cycling Championships in Manchester
Lizzie once again demonstrated her form before next week's Track World Cup in claiming the points title on Friday evening. Armitstead looked unstoppable from the start and was rarely troubled on her way to prevailing with a total of 47 points.
The previous day, Lizzie claimed the national championships with a commanding performance. With 3 laps to go, Armitstead strung the field out and positioned herself behind the leaders, ideally placed to pounce on the bell. In trademark fashion, Lizzie timed her move to perfection to claim the scratch title.
