Lizzie In Tour de l'Aude
The Tour de l'Aude - the most prestigious stage race on the women's calendar kicks off today and Lizzie Armitstead's Cervelo Test Team are amongst the favourites to claim a place on the podium
MTC's Lizzie Armitstead continues to concentrate on her road cycling as she embarks on the prestigious Tour de l'Aude. It remains to be seen if Lizzie, who finished 14th in last year's event, will be looking to place higher at this year's event or if she will be working for one of her Cervelo teammates. The Cervelo Test Team are known for their outstanding strength in depth, boasting talents such as last year's winner Claudia Hausler, Emma Pooley, Sharon Laws and of course Lizzie.
The race has 10 stages and is spread over 10 days, commencing on May 23rd and is likely to be decided by several tough stages in the Pyrenees. Lizzie, like many of the Cervelo team stand a shot at a finishing on the podium upon the race's conclusion in Carcassonne next Sunday.

Friday May 14 - Prologue: Gruissan - Gruissan, 3.9km individual time-trial
Saturday May 15 - Stage one: Rieux Minervois - Rieux Minervois, 117km
Sunday May 16 - Stage two: Clermont l'Hérault - Clermont l'Hérault, 34.5km TTT
Monday May 17 - Stage three: Lezignan Corbières - Lezignan Corbières, 110km
Tuesday May 18 - Stage four: Osseja - Osseja, 97km
Wednesday May 19 - Stage five: Amelie les Bains - Amelie les Bains, 104.5km
Thursday May 20 - Stage six: Castelnaudary - Castelnaudary, 100km
Friday May 21 - Stage seven: Limoux - Roquefeuil, 105km
Saturday May 22 - Stage eight: Aunat - Limoux, 112km
Sunday May 23 - Stage nine: Carcassonne - Carcassonne, 90.5km
