Lizzie Powers Hornby

Lizzie Armitstead used pedal power to propel Hornby's commemorative London 2012 train set in the window of the Hamleys London Branch.

Lizzie, Track World Cup gold medallist, is one of Britain's brightest cycling talents and London 2012 hopeful. Lizzie used her cycling expertise to power Hornby's new London 2012 Train Set in the window of Hamleys on Regents Street.

Hornby have joined forces with the Royal Mint to bring the excitement of the Olympics to the iconic toy store Hamleys, as well as consumer's homes. Customers were able to test their sporting ability by pitting themselves against Lizzie in an attempt to beat her fastest time. They could then take home one of Hamleys special London 2012 commemorative range of toy model vehicles.

Olympic and cycling fans will be able to take up the challenge of being Lizzie when Hornby release their Scalectrix Velodrome, due to hit the shelves in September.
