Lizzie Targets Treble Again

Lizzie Armitstead will be competing for team GB this weekend in the World Cup Series opening leg in Manchester.

Having won the first of hopefully many World Championship titles earlier this year, Lizzie will be going into the series full of confidence. The 20 year-old is no stranger to the Manchester track as last year she won all three events she entered to sensationally clinch a trio of gold medals. Lizzie will be participating in the scratch race, the point race and as part of the women's team pursuit and will be looking to for a repeat performance. See her schedule below:

Friday - scratch race at 7.41pm

Saturday - point race at 10pm

Sunday - team pursuit at 3.54pm

The World Cup series is being televised on the BBC from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November with coverage on BBC TV via the Red Button and the BBC Sport website (UK users only) and you can listen live on BBC 5 live sports extra. Be sure to tune in to see if Lizzie can successfully defend all three of her titles.
