MTC Talent At GB Trials
A number of MTC clients shall be in competition over the weekend at the UK trials.
The UK Championships are being held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham and shall feature the best currently competing British athletes.
MTC client Jenny Meadows shall be hoping that, this she will prevail as British Champion outdoors in the 800m. Jenny has won the indoor title on a record 7 occasions but the accolade outdoors has always eluded her. With a number of grand prix wins under her belt already this year, along with a world bronze medal, Jenny is fantastic shape and the British title is hers for the taking.
Perri Shakes-Drayton shall be competing in both the 400 metre flat and 400 hurdles races. Perri is one of Britain's brightest young athletes and has had an incredible season so far. Perri has gained experience in senior international competition racing in the Athletics Diamond League as well as improving her personal best in the 400m flat. Perri shall be looking to add two British titles to her huge collection of other sporting successes.
Kelly Sotherton shall also be competing in the 400 metres and shall be looking to secure her spot in the 4 x 400m relay. The former bronze medal winning Olympic heptathlete was forced to switch to the 400 flat after a recurring back injury.
Phillips Idowu shall be in action in the triple jump competition taking place on the Sunday. Having won 4 out of 5 of the Athletic Grand Prix meetings this season Phillips is jumping consistently well in less than perfect conditions, and shall be looking to defend his title at the World Championships next month.
MTC's power house Harry Aikines-Aryeetey shall also be in action over the weekend competing in the hotly contested 100 and 200 metres. Harry shall be aiming for success in both events and repeating the double gold he secured in the World Youth Championships in 20.. Harry has already achieved the ‘A' qualifying time for the World Championships and recently won the England Championships showing he is in fantastic form.
