MTC Track & Field Stars Impress

A number of MTC’s athletes were in action over the weekend…

A number of MTC's Track & Field stars were competing in Geneva over the weekend, claiming a number of victories along the way. Lee McConnell continued her impressive start to the season notching up another victory in the 400m, defeating British rivals Marilyn Okoro and Donna Fraser in the process.

The reigning UK Champion Perri Shakes-Drayton claimed a strong international victory in the 400m hurdles, whilst sprinters Craig Pickering and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey clocked a swift 38.55s in the 4x100m relay alongside James Dasaolu and Rikki Fifton.

Across the boarder in Turin, Italy, Phillips Idowu continued his formidable start to the season, winning the triple jump with a leap of 17.60m for the second time in a week.

With this summer's World Championships now on the horizon, MTC's stars are looking to continue to build their seasons, with the aim of peaking in mid August in Berlin.
