Perri And Harry Victorious
Perri Shakes-Drayton and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey won their respective races at the Loughborough International.
Perri, European bronze medallist in the 400m hurdles, beat off some strong competition in the 400m to win in a time of 53.92 seconds. The blustery conditions caused problems throughout the day with athletes experiencing a strong head wind as they approached the home straight.
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, former world junior champion, produced an explosive performance in the 100m to equal his personal best of 10.10 seconds. Unfortunately, a strong tail wind of +3.5 meant that although this performance, his best since 2008, was well inside the World Championship ‘A' standard he is still looking for the qualification time needed to travel to Daegu.
