Phillips Wins In Rio...
Phillips Idowu leaps clear of rivals with world leading jump in Rio
The World Champion leapt 17.48 metres to win the triple jump at the Grande Prêmio Brasil Caixa de Atletismo meeting in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. In second place was Alexis Copello who had previoulsy held the longest jump of the season recorded at the first IAAF Diamons League meeting in Doha.
The jump will be hugely encouraging to the 31 year old as he embarks on a busy schedule ahead of the European Championships in Barcelona, starting with his next competition in Uberlandia.
