Shelagh & The Serpentine...

She's done it!!

Many many congratulations to our very own super swimmer Shelagh Fogarty, who successfully completed her mile-long swim in the freezing cold – and rather mucky from all accounts – Serpentine in Hyde Park last Friday for Sport Relief.

Shelagh has been very honest about her fear of open water swimming, particularly having to avoid various forms of wildlife that might be in there with her, and then there’s the not so comfortable freezing temperatures to deal with aswell, but she did it, and we at MTC are all very proud!

Shelagh told us, “I’m so happy I did it, and plan to carry on swimming in the Serpentine and Tooting Bec Lido. It’s tough but leaves you feeling fantastic. Awake and to the power of ten!!  My coach and friend Pete Thompson thinks I should do a Channel Relay next – you never know. Can’t leave all the water challenges to James Cracknell can we??”

If you want to see how she did it, check out Shelagh's page for the 5Live video…
