Wiggins Aiming For Verona Jersey
Team Sky's sports director Sean Yates has suggested that Bradley Wiggins will be looking to round off the Giro d'Italia in style...
After the opening stage at this year Giro d'Italia, Bradley Wiggins was wearing the leaders pink jersey but some unfortunate crashes have subsequently derailed his quest on the general classification. However, Team Sky's sports director Sean Yates has suggested that Bradley could be looking to finish the Tour in the same manner as he started it - with a victory.
Yates said that Bradley will be saving himself as much as possible over the next two mountain stages to be ready for the final day's 15-kilometre time trial in Verona. Yates is hoping that the last individual time trial of the tour will see Bradley throw down the guantlet to his competitors ahead of the Tour de France and go for glory himself after Bradley has been riding consistantly well for his team mates throughout the tour.
