Wiggins Claims Sun Tour
Bradley Wiggins won the first stage race of his professional career at the Herald-Sun Tour in Australia
Following a more supportive role to his teammates for most of the race, Brad's class shone through on Friday by winning the 14km individual time trial which put him in the lead overall. After clawing back 45 secs from Chris Sutton, Brad was able to defend the lead he built up in the 15 laps of the Carlton circuit in Melbourne to come home victorious;
‘My father was Australian, so I'm half-Australian I guess... to be here now as a winner myself is great'
The race heralds the end of a stellar 2009 for Brad and he will now enjoy a well deserved rest
