Bradley Wiggins is arguably the outstanding star in British sport and world cycling today with an exceptional record and his win in the Tour de France being described by Sir Chris Hoy as the “greatest sporting achievement” by a British athlete. Four-time Olympic Gold Medal Winner, Britain’s joint most decorated Olympian and the UK’s only winner of the iconic Tour de France, Bradley captured the British public’s imagination in 2012 with not only victory in France but by taking the Gold Medal in the Time Trial in front of a home crowd at London 2012 at the iconic Hampton Court Palace. Bradley also enjoyed victories in Paris-Nice, the Tour de Romandie and the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2012 – a feat never achieved by a cyclist before in the same year as a Tour de France victory.
2012 was a remarkable year for Bradley both on and off his bike. In December 2012, he won the public vote to be crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year and later that month it was revealed he would be awarded a Knighthood in the New Years Honours list for his services to cycling.
Bradley has an epic record of track and road success spanning over 15 years. Highlights include Gold Medals for Individual Pursuit at both the Athens and Beijing Olympics, three Gold Medals at the 2008 World Championships in Manchester and 4th place at the 2009 Tour de France, at the time the best British performance in 25 years. Sky Atlantic and legendary director John Dower also produced the critically acclaimed ‘A Year in Yellow’ documenting the epic year. Bradley is also a columnist for The Guardian. Away from the bike, Brad is excited to be working on an original collaboration with Fred Perry with a number of collections throughout 2012 and 2013.
