One half of Team GB's number 1 ranked Beach Volleyball pair, Lucy, together with playing partner Denise Johns, have their sights firmly set on London 2012 and performing well at the specially built arena at Horse Guards Parade by Buckingham palace. The Boulton-Johns team will be looking to continue where they left off at the Horse Guards when they performed brilliantly to place 4^th at the Visa 2012 Test Event earlier in the year, beating the world's number 1 ranked pairing en route in the quarter-finals.

Lucy started her career as an indoor volleyball player and whilst still studying, earned her first international cap in 2003, aged just 17. Wanting to explore the opportunities that beach volleyball offers, 2006 saw Lucy switch disciplines and was immediately rewarded as she and with her partner Denise Johns qualified for the FIVB World Tour. Lucy made an immediate impression on the tour largely due to her powerful serve that reached speeds of 77.5kmph - the 6th fastest of the World Series that year.

Since 2006, the pair have attained worldwide recognition; competing every year on the FIVB world tour since their formation, Boulton-Johns have managed a highly respectable best finish of 13th,whilst also narrowly missing out on a medal in the CEV European Tour finishing 4th.

During her years with Denise, Lucy has been decorated with team and personal accolades including being honoured as the most valuable player on the VEBT tour in 2009, crowned British Beach Volleyball Champions in 2007, 2008 and 2009, victories in the Swedish Tour in 2009 and 2010, and podium finishes in the Czech tour in 2010, the New Zealand event and the Australian domestic tour in 2011, highlighting that Lucy's form and consistency is improving ahead of London 2012.

With a drive to gain a full understanding of her profession, Lucy undertook a Sport Science degree at Exeter University and hopes that her scientific knowledge will aid her preparations ahead of the Olympics. As an Essex girl, London 2012 feels like her home games and she will be determined to put on a good showing along with partner Denise, who together offers a unique demonstration of their sport to audiences within the corporate world...
