Tracy-Ann Oberman was born in London. She has had a wide and varied career  on stage, screen, as a stand up comedian and as a writer.

Her many theatre credits include four years with the Royal Shakespeare Company including the  award winning  production of "Tamburlaine and at also at the Royal National Theatre in a production of David Mamet's Edmond opposite Kenneth Branagh.

Tracy-Ann has acted extensively on television but is most widely recognised for her high-profile, NTV award nominated, portrayal of Chrissie Watts in the BBC's flagship show Eastenders, and Yvonne Hartman, head of the mysterious Torchwood institute, in the British TV phenomenon Dr Who. Her numerous TV appearances include sketch shows, dramas, and sit-coms (Bob Martin, Big Train, Marion and Geoff, Lenny Henry in Pieces, M1 High, Sorted, Summerhill, The Last Detective, The Bill, Casualty and many more).

Throughout her career Tracy-Ann has been proud to be associated with BBC Radio productions and for a period was a permanent member of the Radio Drama Company. She has appeared in over 600 dramas, comedy series, sketch and satirical news shows. Later this year, Tracy will be playing the controversial Shirley Porter in the explsoive Shirleymander on BBC Radio 4.

Tracy-Ann was runner up on a celebrity edition of Mastermind (her specialist subject being the "Imperial Roman family") scoring the highest IQ when she appeared on Test The Nation and she made it through to the quarter final of Celebrity Masterchef. She has fronted and presented the Eastenders BBC3 special The Curse of The Queen Vic as well as often appearing in various discussion retrospectives on Eastenders, Dr Who et al. She is also is a regular narrator for documentaries and has been a voice over artiste for many many years.

Tracy is a regular panelist on The Wright Stuff and recently wrote and performed her first Radio 4 Play for the BBC about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, also starring Catherine Tate.

She is a proud mother of a three year old girl and has  thus joined the ranks of hardworking, multitasking mothers the world over.
